TCL CSOT has announced that its t8 project—the world’s pioneering G8.6 generation printed OLED production line—has reached structural completion ahead of schedule. Launched in October of the previous year, the project represents a collaborative investment involving TCL CSOT, Guangzhou Municipality, and the Guangzhou Economic Development Zone, with a total capital commitment of approximately RMB 29.5 billion. The initiative aims to establish the globe’s first large-scale, mass-production facility for G8.6 generation printed OLED panels.
Situated in Guangzhou, the project is expected to significantly foster the clustering of upstream and downstream enterprises within the supply chain. Several key suppliers have already confirmed their participation, further solidifying the project’s ecosystem.
This development builds upon the successful mass production and commercial delivery achieved by TCL CSOT’s G5.5 generation printed OLED production line in Wuhan, which has provided critical insights and operational experience to support the t8 project’s advancement.
Designed for a monthly output capacity of approximately 22,500 glass substrates, the t8 project will substantially bolster high-generation production capabilities. Its implementation is poised to expedite the global adoption of printed OLED technology, particularly in mid-to-high-end market segments. Initially targeting mid-sized display applications, the technology is anticipated to gradually penetrate a broader range of use cases.
