To diversify its supply chain and reduce reliance on TSMC, Apple is engaged in exploratory discussions with Intel and Samsung regarding the production of its main processors. Currently, these discussions are in their early stages. Although Apple may ultimately not choose other partners and has not yet made a final decision, its chip supply has been constrained due to recent supply chain disruptions. For over a decade, Apple has been designing its core processors in-house and entrusting TSMC with their manufacturing. However, both Intel and Samsung currently struggle to provide production scale comparable to TSMC. Securing orders from Apple would hold significant importance for both companies.
