U.S. programmable logic device manufacturer Lattice Semiconductor announced that it will acquire U.S. firmware supplier AMI (American Megatrends Inc.) through a cash-and-stock deal valued at approximately $1.65 billion (approximately RMB 11.285 billion). Upon completion of the transaction, AMI will become a subsidiary of Lattice Semiconductor. This acquisition aims to combine Lattice's low-power FPGA technology with AMI's expertise in firmware and infrastructure manageability solutions for cloud and AI platforms, creating a comprehensive portfolio of secure management and control solutions. The two companies will jointly address challenges related to modularity, complexity, runtime, and deployment in data centers, while continuing to provide platform-agnostic complementary chips and solutions for the computing, communications, industrial, and embedded markets. Lattice reported revenue of $170.9 million for the first fiscal quarter of 2026, a 42% year-over-year increase, with a GAAP gross margin of 68.8%.
