Micron has officially expanded its graphics memory portfolio with the introduction of its 24Gb GDDR7, marking its entry into the fiercely competitive 3GB-per-chip graphics memory sector and setting the stage for a three-way rivalry alongside Samsung and SK Hynix. At present, Micron offers two variants: a 28GT/s version already in mass production and a 32GT/s version available as samples. Samsung’s offerings have already found their way into NVIDIA’s Blackwell series graphics cards, while SK Hynix has also unveiled corresponding modules. With this move, all three memory behemoths have now established their presence in the 3GB single-chip GDDR7 market.
