Data released on Thursday showed that driven by the strong performance of South Korean chipmakers, the consolidated net profit of listed companies on South Korea's main stock exchange increased by more than 33% year-on-year in 2025. According to statistics from the Korea Exchange, among the companies in the KOSPI index with fiscal years ending in December, the consolidated net profit of 626 companies reached KRW 1,894 trillion (approximately USD 124.5 billion) last year, representing a year-on-year increase of 33.6%.
