NVIDIA is transitioning its CPU processor strategy from catering solely to internal requirements to meeting both internal and external demands. Kicking off this shift is the Vera CPU, which is built on the Arm instruction set and NVIDIA's proprietary architecture. It boasts 72 cores and incorporates spatial multithreading and high-speed interconnect technologies. NVIDIA asserts that the IPC (Instructions Per Cycle) performance has seen a 1.5-fold enhancement, delivering outstanding single-thread performance alongside highly efficient multithreading capabilities. Moreover, NVIDIA has revealed details about the Rosa CPU project, which is projected to debut in 2028 and is designed to achieve unparalleled single-thread performance.
