TSMC has recently issued a notice to its customers, urging them to place orders for the N2 process at the earliest opportunity. This is because a significant portion of the production capacity has already been reserved in advance through the end of 2027, and the remaining capacity is subject to a delivery cycle that can extend up to six quarters. Even if customers manage to secure production capacity, they may still face a wait of 12 months from the start of production until they receive the final chips. This situation presents considerable challenges for product planning. TSMC is therefore encouraging customers to confirm their capacity requirements by mid-2027. Notably, several major clients have already secured capacity quotas for the upcoming two-year period.
