MediaTek announced that its consolidated revenue for January stood at NT$46.977 billion, marking an 8.37% decrease from the previous month and an 8.15% drop compared to the same period last year. MediaTek indicated that revenue from its smartphone business is anticipated to experience a substantial decline in the first quarter of 2026. This downturn is attributed to the impact of escalating memory and bill-of-materials (BOM) costs on smartphone demand. In contrast, the revenue generated from the smart device platform product line has witnessed growth on both a month-on-month and year-on-year basis. This positive trend is fueled by a resurgence in demand for communication, television, and computing devices. Additionally, revenue from power management ICs has maintained stability. Looking ahead, MediaTek is optimistic about its overall operational growth for the entire year of 2026, driven by the prevailing trends in the AI industry.
