On January 29th, it was reported that Musk stated Tesla needs to build and operate a factory named 'TeraFab' to produce semiconductors. This project, with a massive investment amounting to billions of dollars, signifies a further expansion of Tesla's business scope, no longer limited to the electric vehicle sector. Musk indicated that to eliminate potential production bottlenecks that may arise in the next three to four years, it is essential to construct this Tesla TeraFab. The factory will be enormous, covering various aspects such as logic, memory, and packaging, and will be produced domestically in the United States. He also mentioned that existing suppliers like TSMC, Samsung, and Micron Technology are unable to meet Tesla's chip supply demands.
