Lisa Su, CEO of AMD, emphasized that the ascent of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies hasn't prompted the company to scale back its recruitment drives. AMD remains on an active hiring spree; however, the profile of talent it's after has evolved. There's now a stronger inclination towards candidates proficient in AI technologies and those who harbor a visionary outlook.

AMD's foray into GPU chip development has catapulted it to the forefront of the AI arena. The company is seamlessly weaving AI technologies into every facet of its chip R&D endeavors.

Earlier, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis had signaled that AI's emergence has led major corporations to throttle their hiring pace, forecasting a 'low-hiring, low-firing' trend in the job market.

As of December 2024, AMD's global workforce stands at roughly 28,000 strong. Lisa Su is of the firm belief that AI serves as a catalyst to amplify human capabilities and productivity, rather than as a substitute for human labor.
