SK Hynix Set to Kick Off HBM4 Production in February Next Year; M15X Plant to Start Operations in May

SK Hynix has made an announcement stating that its brand-new semiconductor manufacturing facility, M15X, situated in Cheongju, South Korea, will finish building its inaugural cleanroom and initiate trial production in May 2025. Furthermore, the company has outlined plans to begin mass-producing HBM3E and HBM4 in November of the same year. This factory represents a substantial investment, with the total amount surpassing KRW 20 trillion. Its overarching goal is to ease the worldwide scarcity of AI chips. By doing so, it aims to reinforce SK Hynix's standing in the highly competitive HBM market segment.
