Powerchip Teams Up with SoftBank, Investing 8 Billion Yen in Next-Gen AI Memory R&D

Powerchip is set to participate in the next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) and supercomputer memory development initiative, which is being spearheaded by Japan's SoftBank Group. In this collaborative effort, Powerchip will work hand-in-hand with Japan's Shinko Electric Industries. Their combined expertise will focus on the pilot production and manufacturing facets of the project. The overarching goal is to conduct prototype trials by 2027 and subsequently set up a robust mass production system by 2029.
