Huawei has made an official announcement regarding the global call for entries for the 6th Olympus Awards. Since their inception in 2019, these awards have been designed with the noble objective of motivating researchers worldwide to delve into fundamental theoretical research within the realm of data storage.

In the past, the awards have successfully drawn the participation of more than 320 scholars hailing from 12 different countries. A total of 6 Olympus Awards and 18 Olympus Pioneer Awards have been bestowed upon deserving recipients.

For the year 2025, the awards will be presented in two categories. There will be 2 Olympus Awards, each carrying a substantial prize of 1 million yuan, and 5 Olympus Pioneer Awards, with each award coming with a prize of 200,000 yuan. Whether the recipients are individuals or teams, they will be granted the invaluable opportunity to engage in in - depth exchanges with Huawei. Moreover, they will receive robust support for their ongoing research initiatives.

This year's call for entries zeroes in on two primary research directions. The first direction revolves around innovative media technologies tailored for the AI era, encompassing a total of 3 specific challenges. The second direction focuses on the data infrastructure that is native to Agentic AI, which includes 2 distinct challenges.
