On December 1, 2025, reporters obtained information from China Green Development Group indicating that the 200 MW/800 MWh semi-solid battery energy storage project located in Wuhai, Inner Mongolia, had successfully been connected to the grid and commenced power generation. This project has set a new benchmark in China, achieving the highest installed capacity among semi-solid lithium battery energy storage projects that have been connected to the grid. Occupying an area of roughly 100 acres, the project boasts 160 energy storage battery containers along with 40 integrated containers for power conversion and voltage step-up. This marks a pivotal moment, signifying that China's semi-solid energy storage technology has made the leap from demonstration applications to large-scale commercial deployment.
