On November 21, Maxscend released an announcement revealing that the company, along with its wholly-owned subsidiary Maxscend Technologies (HK) Limited, has been slapped with a patent infringement lawsuit by Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in the First Local Court of Munich, Germany. The estimated monetary value tied up in this case is provisionally pegged at 1 million euros (roughly equivalent to RMB 8.2 million). In addition, Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has initiated two more legal actions against the company in the Seoul Central District Court in South Korea, with the cumulative estimated value of these cases hovering around RMB 1.008 million. All the pertinent cases are progressing through various stages of the judicial process. Maxscend clarified that its products are entirely自主研发 (self-developed, a term more commonly used in Chinese contexts to emphasize independence in development), and it does not acknowledge the allegations put forth by the plaintiff. The company has expressed its intent to actively engage in the legal proceedings. The current financial repercussions of this litigation on the company's profits are deemed relatively minor, with the ultimate actual impact hinging on the court's final verdict.
