Despite growing opposition from conservative supporters, Trump remains insistent that skilled immigrants should be allowed to enter the U.S. to support the development of domestic advanced manufacturing. During a speech in Washington on Wednesday, Trump specifically mentioned the labor demands of newly constructed factories, such as the one being built by TSMC in Arizona. Speaking at the U.S.-Saudi Investment Forum, Trump said, 'You can't invest billions of dollars to build a massive computer chip factory, like the one in Arizona, and then expect to hire people directly from the unemployed population to operate it. They have to bring in thousands of people, and I would welcome those people.'
