On the morning of November 7, 2025, the 2024 Beijing Science and Technology Awards Ceremony was held at the Beijing Convention Center. The research team led by Professor Wang Xingjun from the School of Electronics, Peking University, won the First Prize of the Beijing Natural Science Award for their project titled 'High-Capacity, High-Resolution, Ultra-Broadband Silicon-Based Optoelectronic Integrated Chips and Systems'. Meanwhile, the team led by Associate Professor Wei Xianlong, a tenured faculty member at the School of Electronics, received the Second Prize of the Beijing Natural Science Award for their research achievements in 'In-Situ Electron Microscopy Methods and Studies on the Structure-Performance Relationships of Nanomaterials'.
