On October 14, the China Semiconductor Industry Association released a statement highlighting a recent incident where Nexperia, a subsidiary of its member company Wingtech Technology in the Netherlands, faced intervention from local authorities, sparking widespread concern across the industry. The Association voiced its grave apprehension over this development and reiterated its unwavering support for member companies in defending their legitimate rights and interests. It underscored the importance of upholding a business environment that is equitable, just, and devoid of discrimination, while also emphasizing the need to preserve the stability of the global industrial supply chain. The Association firmly opposes the misuse of the term "national security" to justify the imposition of selective and discriminatory restrictions on the overseas branches of Chinese companies. Such discriminatory practices, which specifically target certain enterprises, will disrupt the open, inclusive, and collaborative nature of the global semiconductor ecosystem, a stance that the Association strongly condemns.
