The era of angstroms is approaching, and TSMC is accelerating its deployment of advanced manufacturing processes. According to supply chain sources, Kaohsiung is set to become the core region for 2-nanometer chip production. The five factory sites (Phase 1~5) planned for Fab22 will all be dedicated to producing 2-nanometer series chips, including the A16 process that will introduce Backside Power Delivery Network (BSPDN) technology next year. Meanwhile, TSMC is evaluating the addition of a sixth factory site (P6), with plans to introduce the even more advanced A14 (1.4-nanometer) process. The total investment is expected to exceed US$50 billion, marking a full-scale entry into the next-generation chip node.
