On September 5, SMIC released a notice stating its intention to acquire a 49% stake in its controlled subsidiary, Semiconductor Manufacturing International (Beijing) Corporation, through the issuance of A-shares. This particular transaction does not qualify as a major asset restructuring or a restructuring listing; however, it does fall under the category of a related-party transaction. Given the uncertainties associated with the transaction, the company's shares have been suspended from trading since September 1, 2025, with the suspension expected to extend no longer than 10 trading days. At present, all involved parties are actively pushing forward the work related to the transaction, yet the transaction plan is still undergoing discussion and validation.
