On Wednesday, Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul lambasted the Trump administration's decision to acquire a 10% stake in Intel, branding it as "a shift toward socialism." Last month, Intel disclosed that the U.S. government had procured 433.3 million common shares at $20.47 per share, amounting to a total investment of $8.9 billion and granting the government a 10% ownership in the company. Intel clarified that the government's purchase price was discounted from the prevailing market rate.
