During the first six months of this year, leading foreign institutions have been actively engaging in the Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) sector, with Barclays and UBS notably expanding their ETF portfolios, particularly focusing on products linked to Hong Kong stocks and A-shares. According to data, Barclays' ETF holdings surged from 135 at the end of last year to 200, while UBS's holdings increased from 57 to 141. Institutional analysts attribute this growth to factors such as the acceleration of Renminbi (RMB) internationalization and the recovery of corporate earnings, which are enhancing global investors' confidence in the A-share market. It is anticipated that overseas funds will further augment their positions in A-shares in the foreseeable future.
