SK Hynix, the second-largest memory chip manufacturer in South Korea, revealed on Wednesday that it has incorporated state-of-the-art production equipment into its memory fabrication line in Icheon, South Korea. This strategic move aims to expedite the development of next-generation chips. Specifically, the company has installed the pioneering High NA EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) lithography system in its M16 chip manufacturing facility. This advanced system, manufactured by the Dutch company ASML, boasts a remarkable 40% increase in numerical aperture and a 1.7-fold enhancement in precision. These improvements are anticipated to drastically elevate chip resolution, narrow line widths, and enhance integration capabilities.
