On July 28, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization unveiled the "Several Measures for Further Expanding the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Shanghai." The document outlines plans to foster technological advancements in pivotal frontier domains, encompassing fundamental theories, methodological tools, new-generation general artificial intelligence, smart chips, embodied intelligence, intelligent software, brain-computer interfaces, and intelligent computing systems. Eligible projects may receive financial support amounting to up to 30% of their total investment, with a cap of 50 million yuan. Additionally, innovators are encouraged to engage in national flagship projects and apply for municipal support initiatives, which could also provide up to 50 million yuan in assistance. For strategic and public-interest key projects, upon approval by the municipal government, the support ratio can escalate to as high as 50%.
