On the 26th, the "Global AI Innovation Index Report 2025" was unveiled at the plenary session of the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference's scientific frontier segment. Compiled jointly by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China and Peking University, this report marks the fifth consecutive year it has been released at the conference. According to the report, the United States and China solidly occupy the top tier in AI innovation, leading the pack with total scores of 77.97 and 58.01, respectively. The second-tier countries, though reduced in number, each exhibit unique development strengths. Most third-tier nations are Western developed countries with a robust foundation in scientific and technological innovation, yet they demonstrate moderate performance in AI innovation and lack distinct advantages. Countries in the fourth tier generally have areas for improvement and need to enhance their capabilities.
