On July 22, Baidu unveiled the mobile web version of its proprietary AIGC video generation model, 'Steam Engine', enabling users to effortlessly create cinematic-quality videos with a single tap. Within just two weeks of its release, the model amassed over 300,000 registered users, processing 18,000 task submissions per hour and generating more than 2 million pieces of content. Currently, a limited-time free public beta test of the Turbo version is underway, with plans to introduce Lite/Pro versions and a comprehensive suite of audio-enabled versions in August. These upcoming releases will feature industry-first capabilities, including single-person voiceovers and dual-person dialogue video generation. Trained on vast multimodal Chinese datasets comprising hundreds of millions of entries, 'Steam Engine' utilizes a multi-objective reinforcement learning framework and secured the top spot on the VBench I2V leaderboard with a global high score of 89.38% in May 2023.
