Apple executives are currently engaged in internal discussions about the feasibility of acquiring the AI startup Perplexity, with the objective of bolstering their search capabilities or refining Siri. Among those involved in the negotiations are Adrian Perica, Apple's mergers and acquisitions leader, and Eddy Cue, the head of services. According to unnamed sources, these discussions are still in their nascent stages, and no formal offer has yet been extended. Should the acquisition not come to fruition, Apple is also considering integrating Perplexity as a search engine option within Safari.
