Amazon CEO Andy Jassy has cautioned that the rapid expansion of generative AI and intelligent agents will necessitate further workforce reductions at the company. He emphasized that while some jobs will become obsolete, new roles will simultaneously emerge. Since 2022, Amazon has already shed over 27,000 jobs and developed more than 1,000 AI applications and services. This technological advancement has not only bolstered efficiency but also necessitated a restructuring within the company, putting traditional job roles at risk of replacement while significantly augmenting the demand for technical positions.
