On May 28, ByteDance's Security and Risk Control Department made an announcement that, with the aim of mitigating data leakage risks, it will begin phasing out third-party AI development software, including Cursor and Windsurf, effective June 30. In its place, the company will introduce its proprietary AI programming tool, Trae. Launched in March of this year, Trae is equipped with the doubao-1.5-pro large model and supports DeepSeek R1&V3, positioning it as the first AI-native Integrated Development Environment (IDE) in China. Its overseas version has already been released and introduced paid subscription plans in May. As of now, ByteDance has yet to issue an official statement on this matter.
