The Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the National Health Commission and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, has jointly released a notice outlining a budget allocation of 16.734 billion yuan for 2025. This funding is earmarked to enhance medical services and security capabilities. Of this total, 9.508 billion yuan will be directed towards the comprehensive reform of public hospitals, with the objective of deepening these reforms and fostering high-quality development. Furthermore, 7.226 billion yuan will be invested in the capacity building of medical and health institutions, with a focus on improving the management of critical maternal and neonatal cases, pediatric services, mental health services, and strengthening the capabilities of county-level medical institutions. This financial support will not only aid municipal and county-level public hospitals in upgrading their diagnostic and treatment capabilities, facilitating the establishment of smart hospitals, and rationalizing medical expenses, but will also drive the enhancement of capabilities and equipment at grassroots medical institutions.
