On April 19, Nanjing welcomed the grand opening of its inaugural Hema NB store, nestled along the river at the Jingxin Neighborhood Center in Jiangbei New Area. This store is tailored to serve the local community, providing an array of low-priced, popular items alongside a diverse selection of private-label goods that encompass fresh produce, groceries, and daily essentials. Unique to this location are Nanjing's signature products, including saltwater duck and live duck embryos. As a hard discount retailer, Hema NB aims to fulfill the daily dining requirements of nearby residents. Furthermore, following the departure of Hema's founder Hou Yi, the new CEO Yan Xiaolei has set his sights on advancing the two primary formats of Hema Fresh and Hema NB. Concurrently, the Hema X membership stores are undergoing a nationwide contraction, with only five locations remaining.
