On October 27, Anthropic formally filed its initial public offering (IPO) prospectus, marking a significant stride toward going public. The New York Times reported that the company could commence trading as early as next month. This IPO will not only represent Anthropic's formal foray into the capital markets but also emerge as a pivotal moment to gauge the resilience of the U.S. economy, given the trillions of dollars in investments at stake. According to the prospectus, Anthropic reported $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of the year, accompanied by a net loss of $80.7 billion—largely attributable to non-cash accounting charges. The company allocated nearly $9 billion toward computing resources and infrastructure, with substantial future obligations for cloud services and chip leasing.
