On October 24, the High-Quality Dataset Construction Project for Brain-Computer Interfaces, spearheaded by Tongji Hospital—an affiliate of Tongji Medical College at Huazhong University of Science and Technology—was officially launched in Wuhan. Hu Junbo, the President of Tongji Hospital, emphasized that high-quality data serves as the cornerstone for effective algorithm performance. To achieve this, the hospital has partnered with several premier hospitals and leading companies nationwide to collectively drive forward this initiative. Slated for completion by 2027, the project will concentrate on ten categories of neurological conditions, such as stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injuries, and Parkinson's disease, encompassing key clinical application scenarios in neuromodulation and functional reconstruction. The dataset will incorporate six distinct data modalities, with a special focus on constructing multimodal datasets for brain signal acquisition, intention decoding, functional assessment, closed-loop neuromodulation, and rehabilitation interaction.
