On Thursday (local time), Etsy, an American e-commerce platform specializing in handmade goods, declared that it would forbid sellers from listing AI-created recipes and handicraft patterns, including crochet patterns and sewing templates, on its site. This move is part of Etsy's comprehensive efforts to govern the utilization of AI technology on its platform. Under the new policy, sellers are mandated to showcase tangible items crafted following the provided instructions, as opposed to presenting AI-generated or simulated outcomes. Additionally, while the sale of AI-generated artwork remains allowed, sellers are obligated to transparently indicate that such pieces were produced by AI.
