A credit risk indicator for Meta Platforms has climbed to a historic high, causing its corporate bond prices to fall. Meta's plan to increase capital expenditures has once again raised market concerns, with worries that tech giants may issue substantial amounts of debt for AI expansion in an already saturated market environment. Data from the Intercontinental Exchange showed that the quoted price of Meta's five-year credit default swaps (CDS) once rose by 8.9 basis points, reaching approximately 119.3 basis points per year, marking the highest intraday level since the contract's listing. Previously, Meta disclosed that it had signed multiple leases and contracts, with future committed expenditures reaching as high as $825 billion, primarily for artificial intelligence computing power and infrastructure construction. In July, the company's disclosed future expenditure commitments were still close to $700 billion.
