On October 22, during a press conference organized by the State Council Information Office, Jiang Chenghua, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, highlighted that the current and forthcoming periods will present a multitude of fresh challenges in global economic governance. Problems such as the digital divide, development shortfalls, and the excessive generalization of security concerns have evolved into global predicaments. China has consistently demonstrated a proactive stance, endeavoring to serve as a builder, contributor, and active participant in global governance.
Jiang Chenghua emphasized that throughout the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, China will steadfastly support the world trade system, with the World Trade Organization at its core. The nation will continue to deepen multilateral and bilateral economic and trade cooperation, broaden its network of high-standard free trade areas, and take a leading role in formulating international rules for emerging sectors, particularly in the digital and green domains. Simultaneously, China will advocate for the creation of an open AI ecosystem, collaborating closely with other nations to jointly establish international economic and trade rules in the realm of AI, in line with global best practices and English-speaking countries' regulatory trends.
