According to reports, OpenAI is ramping up efforts to secure approximately $30 billion in a new funding round, with a lofty target valuation that could surpass $1.4 trillion. The company is keen on locking in investor commitments ahead of its competitor, Anthropic, which is anticipated to go public in mid-November. At present, discussions are underway with current investors, including SoftBank Group and Abu Dhabi's investment entity MGX, regarding their participation in this funding endeavor. OpenAI has revealed that since the introduction of the GPT-6 Astra model, its annualized revenue has witnessed accelerated growth, now standing at $50 billion, and is projected to climb to $70 billion by the year's end. The company is eager to finalize this funding round before Anthropic unveils more of its financial details, thereby sidestepping additional investor comparisons. Back in March of this year, OpenAI's valuation soared to $852 billion following the completion of a $122 billion funding round.
