Chen Guangyu, a 17-year-old tech whiz, has recently declared his decision to leave Moonshot AI's Kimi team, with aspirations to further his development in the San Francisco Bay Area. Unlike those celebrated with Olympic gold medals, Chen Guangyu, still a high school freshman in 2024, embarked on his journey to master AI-related knowledge. In 2025, his technical blog, DeltaNet, drew widespread industry attention. This exposure led to an internship at Tilde Research in Silicon Valley, where he actively engaged in pertinent projects. In November of the same year, at the tender age of 16, he joined the Kimi team. Within less than a year, he emerged as a pivotal contributor to the Attention Residuals technology, which was subsequently integrated into the Kimi K3 architecture. Moreover, he played a role in refining the KDA computing kernel. Chen Guangyu's remarkable ascent resonates with Kimi's distinctive talent acquisition strategy, which does not confine candidates based on academic credentials or prior experience.
