A year following his departure from Alibaba, Ye Jun, the former vice president of the tech behemoth, embarked on a new entrepreneurial journey by establishing SequoiaTech, an AI Agent startup. SequoiaTech strategically sidesteps the core domains dominated by tech giants, opting instead to tap into the familiar and steadily expanding niche market of foreign trade as its entry point.
Leveraging a token-based consumption pricing model, SequoiaTech offers AI Agent services tailored for foreign trade enterprises, including automating customs declaration procedures. Remarkably, within its inaugural month of operation, the company secured contracts from two enterprises. Presently, the team comprises over a dozen members. This year, SequoiaTech aims to achieve an annual recurring revenue milestone of 10 million yuan and aspires to reach profitability within its first year.
Ye Jun posits that the B2B market lacks the data flywheel effect characteristic of the consumer-centric market; instead, its competitive edge hinges on customer trust and organizational agility. By harnessing AI technology with a lean team, SequoiaTech can minimize communication overheads, thereby concentrating more intently on fulfilling the genuine needs of its clientele.
Looking ahead, SequoiaTech envisions integrating itself into the ecosystems of pertinent office platforms and gradually broadening its horizons to encompass a wider array of industry scenarios.
