On October 13, according to The Information, sources familiar with the matter said that a startup developing AI videos for filmmakers is in talks with OpenAI to obtain access to Sora, adjust its features, and sell software or services based on the model. The startup, which has not yet publicly disclosed its name, was co-founded several months ago by Hollywood producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, former Sora research lead Bill Peebles, and former Dropbox CFO Sujay Jaswa. It is currently unclear whether the startup will gain access to Sora's weights, but sources indicated that if a deal is reached, it would receive sufficiently deep access to enable significant customization.
