French AI startup Mistral has just declared the successful closure of its latest funding round, amassing a hefty €3 billion (around $3.5 billion), with Samsung at the helm of the investment drive. This latest financial boost has catapulted Mistral's post-money valuation to over €21 billion. The 'European Expansion Fund', a venture backed by the European Union and overseen by EQT Group, along with existing backer PSG Equity, also joined forces in this funding endeavor. Just a year prior, Mistral's valuation stood at €11.7 billion, following a funding round led by Dutch semiconductor equipment giant ASML.
