On August 28th, reports surfaced that Sharpa, a company dedicated to the development of agile AI robotics, has successfully secured funding in excess of 4.5 billion yuan. The roster of investors encompasses industrial giants such as Alibaba, Meituan, Tencent, JD.com, and Tecno, alongside prominent investment entities like Sequoia China, Qiming Venture Partners, Meituan Longzhu, and Photosynthesis Ventures. Sharpa has announced that the newly acquired funds will be strategically allocated to expedite the research and development of core technologies, recruit and nurture top-tier talent, and facilitate the transition of general-purpose robots from the stage of technical validation to that of real-world application.
