On August 22, according to a report by The New York Times, two sources familiar with the matter revealed that San Francisco-based company Anthropic, in discussions with potential investors, indicated it might seek to raise over $100 billion in its initial public offering (IPO), potentially valuing the company at $2 trillion. If successful, Anthropic, founded just five years ago, would set the record for the largest-ever IPO, surpassing the $1.77 trillion valuation and $85.7 billion financing achieved by Elon Musk's SpaceX in June this year. This would represent a significant leap for Anthropic, which already reached a valuation of $900 billion in a private funding round this year and submitted its IPO application in June.
