Last week, ByteDance’s large model division, Seed, underwent another round of organizational restructuring, resulting in the establishment of four main departments, all under the leadership of Wu Yonghui. Specifically, Li Chenggang is now at the helm of the Pretrain Data department, bringing together multi-faceted pre-training data teams and overseeing data-related tasks for the new Omni model. Tang Shengyu leads the Horizon RL department, merging several teams to drive advancements in reinforcement learning. Qin Yujia oversees the B-end-oriented Product Posttrain-Work department, which is responsible for the integrated rollout of Agentic models and the optimization of office scenarios. Meanwhile, Zhu Wenjia heads the C-end-oriented Product Posttrain-Chat department, managing the integrated release of conversational models. This restructuring is designed to bolster the model R&D pipeline and construct a distinctive model system tailored to enterprise office Agents and consumer-grade conversational settings.
