Hu Han, who previously led Tencent's Hunyuan multimodal understanding team, has resigned to embark on his entrepreneurial journey. Having gained experience at Microsoft Research Asia, Hu Han joined Tencent in early 2025. During his tenure, he was in charge of research endeavors related to visual large models and multimodal understanding, while also contributing to the development of world models. Currently, Yao Shunyu, who heads Tencent's Large Language Model Department, is in the process of reorganizing the team. It is anticipated that Hu Han's former research group will redirect its efforts towards pioneering research in the realm of world models. Tencent has not yet issued any official response regarding this development.
