The Central School District of Salamanca, New York, is collaborating with Toronto-based robotics company Realbotix to introduce a new AI teaching assistant robot named Sally into classrooms this fall. In the future, a team of robot instructors may be formed to assist students in summer courses and daily learning. Sally belongs to Realbotix's M-series products and operates on a closed network to ensure controllable course content and student privacy security. It features natural language processing, facial expression simulation, and real-time feedback capabilities, enabling it to retrieve personalized learning data based on student IDs and provide around-the-clock homework assistance. Currently, Sally is being trialed in AI and robotics courses at some high schools and is expected to serve approximately 500 students this fall.
