The Interim Measures for the Administration of Artificial Intelligence Anthropomorphic Interaction Services, implemented from July 15, aim to regulate AI services involving continuous emotional interaction and impose compliance “constraints” on the AI companionship industry. Recent research reveals that most AI toys targeted at minors have yet to meet the requirements of the new regulations. The introduction of the Measures brings benefits to the AI companionship industry, with leading companies that demonstrate strong compliance capabilities, positive product offerings, and deep cultivation (Note: 'deep cultivation' kept as is for contextual accuracy, but typically translated as 'deep engagement' or 'in-depth focus' if more context were available) in vertical domains poised to establish sustainable competitiveness first. However, the current measures suffer from issues such as broad anchor points, difficulties in defining prohibited items, and unclear responsible entities. The industry anticipates enhancing feasibility through practice and calls for the establishment of industry self-regulatory norms and a multi-party collaborative risk management system to promote the healthy development of the AI companionship industry.
