Toyota and NVIDIA have announced an expanded collaboration, extending the application of physical AI from automotive to areas such as robotics and intelligent facilities. Previously, the two companies have already collaborated to develop next-generation vehicle models equipped with the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX platform and DriveOS system, featuring L2++ level driving assistance capabilities. This collaboration now further expands into four key areas: first, developing safer and smarter vehicles; second, leveraging NVIDIA's technology to accelerate automotive software development; third, optimizing factory simulations through NVIDIA's Omniverse library and Isaac Sim framework; and fourth, Toyota's subsidiaries will develop visual language models for urban transportation based on NVIDIA's technology. Additionally, NVIDIA's technology will also help Toyota enhance vehicle safety and intelligence, optimize vehicle engineering and factory operations, and support intelligent urban transportation systems. The two companies aim to integrate AI technologies across multiple domains to jointly build a new mobility system, with Toyota also leveraging NVIDIA's platform to advance the development of smart cities.
