On July 15 local time, SpaceXAI, owned by Musk, announced the open-sourcing of Grok Build and the removal of all usage restrictions for users. Addressing concerns over user privacy, the company stated that Grok Build has been adhering to the Zero Data Retention (ZDR) principle since its launch, allowing users to disable data uploads at any time via the command-line interface. Previously, the early beta version enabled data retention by default for non-ZDR users, but starting from July 12, the company has disabled this feature for all users and is in the process of deleting all previously retained encoded data to respect user preferences.
