On July 15, sources with inside knowledge revealed that Apple is set to partner with Baidu to co-develop artificial intelligence functionalities tailored for iPhone users in China. Baidu will concentrate its efforts on crafting AI-driven search features capable of handling both images and text. These features will undergo enhancements to function as a Chinese counterpart to the Siri voice assistant, forming an integral part of the "Apple Intelligence" suite. Earlier, on June 23, overseas blogger One Jailbreak stumbled upon mentions of "Baidu Visual Search" within the ExtensionKit while delving into the code of iOS 27 Beta 2. Today, the Cyberspace Administration of China has issued Record Filing Information (filing details) for seven mobile-based generative AI services, with Apple Intelligence being one of the listed entities.
